A Rainy Afternoon at Home

A Rainy Afternoon at Home
Last Friday, a heavy rain poured all afternoon, but it turned out to be a cozy day at home. I woke up to the sound of raindrops hitting the window. The sky was gray, but inside our house, it was warm and bright. My mom made hot chocolate with marshmallows, and we sat on the sofa together. I read my favorite comic book while she knitted a scarf. My little brother played with his toy cars on the floor, making funny engine noises. Sometimes, we stopped to watch the rain: water ran down the window like tiny rivers, and birds hid under the roof of our porch. At dusk, the rain stopped, and a rainbow appeared in the sky. We went outside to breathe the fresh air—it smelled like wet grass and earth. That rainy afternoon wasn’t boring at all. It made me realize that even on gloomy days, we can find happiness in small, warm moments with family.
